About This Job
The Area Sales Manager is responsible for building new and maintaining existing relationships with key accounts in WA, OR, & CA. You’ll be responsible for successfully implementing bid strategies while educating and providing technical support to engineers, owners, DOT agencies, and consultants to solve infrastructure construction problems.
What You'll Need
- Ability to travel regionally (WA, OR, CA) 25-50% of the time
- Minimum of 2 years’ work experience in heavy civil, bridge, or concrete construction projects required
- Minimum 2 years sales experience a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, highly motivated, and a self-starter
- Exceptional organizational, prioritizing, and time management skills
Your Education
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant experience required
What You'll Do
- Assist and support the qualification of proprietary systems by successfully implementing bid strategies to close business.
- Act as a liaison between the Engineering Department and the client to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
- Develop and execute a business development plan focused on transportation, private development, commercial projects and infrastructure construction.
- Generate monthly reports to the Area Director to track key projects in each sector and forecast sales for manufacturing.
- Conduct business review meetings with customers and report customer information internally through call reports.
- Maintain prospect list and detailed quote log to track success rate.
- Make customer visits and attend conferences as needed to better understand industry needs and develop markets.
- Demonstrate all phases of the sales cycle, including prospecting, acquiring, identifying and qualifying customers.
